Jeremy Eisenberg, Label Mogul
info@halfemptyrecords.com
Half Empty Records (HER) was started in 2005 by Jeremy Eisenberg (SUNWISE, ex-Blaked, ex-All Limbs Intact) with the intention of releasing his friend’s music into the universe. He was inspired at the time by labels like Ascetic Records (Riddle of Steel, Traindodge), Fifty Four Forty or Fight! Records (Houston), and Desoto Records (Shiner, Burning Airlines, The Life and Times).
Jeremy, knowing nothing, was a little bit too ambitious for his britches, racking up a nice credit card bill and as bands do, the only band on the label broke up. Unfortunately for Jeremy debt and life got in the way of continuing the DIY record label journey… until now.
So now what?
HER believes we can be ambitious and passionate about releasing music, while being smart about expectations and real about the frailty of a band’s longevity. In an era where bands can pretty much do everything on their own, HER will focus on assisting promising, talented bands (and awesome people) with short run vinyl, CD, and/or cassette tape releases on a case by case basis, where it makes sense and as funds allow. As part of the adventure HER will do everything reasonably within our power to promote the artist online via social media, engage with streaming playlist curators to spread the word, submit music to online music zines, publications, and blogs for review, etc.
The goal of HER is to help an artist get to the next level (whatever that is) and break even as a “company” in the process. Really though, this is not a business… this is a life’s passion.
(Also, we have very picky tastes. If it doesn’t have loud guitars and a good drummer, it’s probably not our thing.)
